What to Expect In Our Services:

Thank you for visiting us on our website.   If you are new to the Clover area or new to the church, we invite you to continue to explore our website to learn more about who we are.  We invite you to visit us during one of our regularly schedule services.  If you prefer to contact our minister or one of our Elders before you visit, you can find that contact information within our website. When you visit us here church of Christ at Clover, here is what you can expect.

You can expect to be greeted at the door with courtesy and friendliness and treated as our honored guest throughout your visit. We will make every effort to get to know you and to make your visit as comfortable, pleasant, and profitable as we can.

The church of Christ at Clover is an autonomous body of believers, independent of any denomination.  Our membership is based on obedient faith and God’s love, grace, and mercy.

We strive to be a Bible-centered, New Testament church, bound together in love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and our love for each other, whether our spiritual brothers and sisters, our family, or our neighbors and friends.

Our worship services are simple, orderly and scriptural, doing and saying everything that is commanded and authorized in the New Testament and omitting that which is not authorized by commandment or apostolic example in the New Testament.

We do not use musical instruments to accompany our singing.  All our singing is “a cappella” just as the early church did in their praise to God.  (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)

During our worship service, we will be led in numerous prayers by men of the congregation as we are exhorted to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Each Sunday, we partake of the Lord’s Supper, as we commemorate the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross as an atonement for our sins.  We eat unleavened bread and drink fruit of the vine in accordance with the instructions of Christ before His death. (1 Corinthians 11:23-32).   In recent times, the traditional passing of the trays of these emblems has been suspended.  You will be offered a communion packet when you enter the building for services.  Simply decline the offer if you do not wish to participate.

Each Sunday, we give monetarily as we have been prospered. (1Corinthians 16:1-2) You are our honored guest and are not expected to make any contribution.   If you choose to do so, there is a box at the rear of the auditorium for that purpose.

During our worship service, we are presented with a lesson from God’s word.  This is an important element of the service as we teach, encourage, and exhort each other to greater understanding and to greater works in accordance with God’s will.

At the close of the lesson, the speaker will offer an opportunity for anyone to respond with a desire to be baptized, a request for prayers of the congregation, or some other need they might have. If someone desires to be baptized, we will do it immediately.   The baptistry always has water suitable for baptisms.  This is in keeping with our understanding and belief from the Bible that our sins are not forgiven and we are not saved until we are submerged in the believer’s baptism (Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:26)

The service will be dismissed with a closing prayer.  We invite you to stay around after dismissal so we can get to know you more.  If you are comfortable with doing so, we also invite you to fill out a Visitor card with information so that we can contact you to thank you for visiting with us

We will be delighted to have you visit us and we hope the visit will be a pleasant and uplifting experience in the Lord.
